We compiled a list of the most known noodles used in Trang Restaurant’s – Asian cooking – and would like to share our noodle summary with you. This can assist in making a choice when ordering your noodles online and in store.
We start off with our selection and include photos to illustrate the different types of noodles.
Hokkien Noodles consist of :
Wheat Flour (72%), Water, Canola Oil, Noodle Improver, Emulsifying Salt (451, 450), Vegetable Gum, Preservative(202), Lye Water, Baking Powder, Colour (101, 102).
Thick Noodles (Tapioka, Gluten Free)
Made from rice flour and tapioca starch.
Rice Noodles – Gluten Free
Rice noodles are noodles that are made from rice. Their principal ingredients are rice flour and water. However, other ingredients such as tapioca or corn starch are also added in order to improve the transparency or increase the gelatinous and chewy texture of the noodles.
Egg Noodles contain eggs and flour.
Vermicelli Noodles – Gluten Free
Skinny rice noodles – vermicelli are a thin form of rice noodles.
Glass noodles are a type of transparent noodle made from starch and water.
Clear noodles are made from mung beans.
